That is really good one. Everytime I think of some exercise, I think of Yoga! But I feel its very difficult, especially body becomes rigid as we grow up. Can you help me or suggest me to overcome this fear? From deep heart I always feel daily exercise is very important. Max.I think about is morning walk. And I am really afraid of Yoga;after 20, I don't know how much flexibility remainins in body. But, I would really like to get it back. Can you please help me out? And if I join any Yoga class after that, I will certainly inform you.
Yes I agree you need some regular excercise to keep your body/mind fresh and energetic. I think Yoga is better since its much more scientific and powerful than other options. Also after Yoga energy level of your body increases while after other exercises like, say, a gym workout, enegry level is depleted.
What I have learnt so far is- Yoga is not competition. Do it only upto your capacity. Don't compete with others, even don't compete with yourself. Never mind if you were more flexible yesterday evening but not even 50% today morning. Regular practice surely increases the flexibility. Some people are less flexible some are more. Put efforts to stretch but don't go beyond limits.
I am not quite sure why you have so much fear of Yoga. Nobody expects you to perform asanas like an expert. It takes decades to become Iyengar Guruji or Ramdev Baba. You can always start with simple asanas, continue it for few months and you would be surprised with your increased flexibilty. Its difficult to express in words what level of satisfaction one gets when he/she learns any new asana. There is really no need to have any apprehension. You know the famous statement- you cannot learn swimming without jumping into water :).
Thanks for your response. Can a fresh leraner can do it at home also? Or it's necessary to join any professional classes? It would be very nice if one can perform it at home in busy schedule. If you have any idea, can you suggest me study materials to do it at home? I agree Yoga is good to keep our mind and body fit. And I have fear about this because my friend was feeling v. exhausted after doing 1 month class of yoga and lost weight too in mean time. I will search for any Yoga classes nearby my home. Thanks again.
In theory yes, one can learn Yoga at home but it is really not recommended. It is also not possible to guide online beyond a certain point. I would encourage you to find a good teacher near by your place if you are serious about it. I am inclined to disagree with your friend. I never found Yoga exhaustive & did not see anyone losing weight not at least in one month. Some good books- 1. Light on Yoga by BSK Iyengar. 2. Yog Pravesh/Parichay by Vishwas mandlik. (a marathi book) 3. a good link- www.yogapoint.com
